What to Expect

Barcelona’s skyline is unthinkable without its outstanding landmark, the Sagrada Família, just like a stay in the city is unthinkable without a visit to Gaudí’s most extraordinary masterpiece.

Construction of the architect’s very individualistic interpretation of a gothic church started in 1882 and is famous for its unusually long time of construction but, even more so, for its unparalleled design. 135 years after laying the first stone still unfinished, it impresses the visitor with its originality and wealth of form and detail, in which Gaudi harmoniously combined Christian iconography and naturalistic elements. The Nativity Facade, the first to be finished in 1930 and declared World Heritage in 2005, depicts the birth of Jesus and is richly decorated with scenes from nature. The 75 metre high columns in the basilica rise to the ceiling and branch out, resembling trees, and walking down the light-flooded central nave of the basilica evokes the sensation of strolling through a forest.

Although incomplete, the Sagrada Família is without a doubt Barcelona’s most popular tourist attraction and receives millions of visitors each year. In order to ensure a pleasant visit for everyone, the monument assigns timeslots, which should be reserved in advance. Your admission also includes a visit to the adjoining school and the museum. Gaudí’s former workshop, which has been turned into a visitor centre, documents the construction of the Sagrada Família with models, drawings and photographs on display.

How does it work?

When you book your entrance ticket, please select the date and  time you would like to visit.
The timeslot only fixes the time you enter the building. Once inside, you can stay as long as you want.

*Due COVID situation we will offer you the tickets with audioguide. Please note these tickets are more expensive than the tickets without audioguide. You can download our official audioguide on your mobile device. To ensure the quality of the download, please remember to do so before your visit.
