What to Expect

Overwhelming from the outside and even more impressive from the inside, Barcelona’s iconic Sagrada Família is one of the highlights on a visit to the city. A wealth of forms, structures and decorative elements awaits the visitor and what better way to explore them, than on a tour led by an expert guide, who answers all your questions?

And details there are to discover many. Gaudi’s architecture is considered unique due to his very personal interpretation of Modernism and Art Nouveau, which gives thought to every minute part. His unparalleled style, inspired by his great passions architecture, nature and religion, combines functionality with aesthetic design as well as religious meaning, so many seemingly random elements fulfill not only an architectural purpose but are also full of significance. The columns in the central nave, for example, branch out like trees to support the weight of the vault and, at the same time, evoke the feeling of walking through a forest, which in turn symbolises the harmony of belief and nature and inspires introspection and prayer.

So, don’t just visit the Sagrada Família, but understand it with the help of a specialised tour guide. Your tickets also give you the advantage of priority entrance and access to the museum, where models, drawings and photographs document the construction process of this world-famous basilica.
