What to expect

Get on one of our comfortable coaches and, just over an hour away from Barcelona, we make our first stop in the capital of northern Catalonia. Girona’s history goes back to pre-Roman times and in its eventful past, the city has been besieged, conquered, reconquered and sacked innumerable times. Today, Girona’s old town is famous for its medieval charm and invites you to a stroll through its narrow, winding streets. Follow your tour guide around the historic centre and discover the Jewish Quarter, one of the best-preserved in Europe, and enjoy the view from the old city walls across the river Onyar and the colourful houses that line its shore.

The second part of our day trip takes you 30km further north to Figueres, birthplace of Salvador Dalí and with its remarkable theatre-museum an attraction not only for lovers of surrealist art. The museum lets you forget everything you think you know about dull art collections and awaits you with a firework of creativity that finds its artistic expression in drawings, installations and the building itself. The Museum comprises the largest collection of artworks by the surrealist artist, who is buried in the crypt under the glass-covered stage of the theatre.
