What to expect:

Conveniently located at Barcelona’s Port Vell (Old Port) L’Aquarium invites you to a visit of a fantastic underwater world. Take a tour around its 35 aquariums and discover the diverse marine flora and fauna of the Mediterranean Sea or the Great Barrier Reef and have a closer look at the seas’ smaller inhabitants, such as corals, anemones and seahorses.
One of the Aquarium’s most spectacular features is certainly its 80 metre-long tunnel, which leads the visitor along the bottom of the Oceanarium, a 4 million-litre tank populated by giltheads, moray eels, ocean sunfish, rays and, of course, sharks. Barcelona’s Aquarium is also the largest Mediterranean-themed aquarium in the world. 14 aquariums represent the Mediterranean’s different marine habitats, like shallow coastal areas, reefs and inter-tidal zones, home to a wide range of organisms.
A highlight of any visit to the aquarium is certainly when feeding time comes around and sharks, morays and rays get their well-deserved lunch, so check out the timetable further down below. Don’t miss the penguins on ‘Planeta Aqua’ and learn through computer games, information panels and interactive elements more about the marine environment. Let your children discover life underwater at ‘Explora!’, an interactive space where children can explore the marine world in a hands-on experience.
